The breeding stock comprises the three most wide-spread varieties, namely the blonde, the red and the swallow-bellied. The purpose of mangalitsa breeding is the purebred preservation and breeding of the different varieties and to produce and process raw materials of special quality and unique taste.

The purpose of mangalitsa breeding is the purebred preservation and breeding of the different varieties and to produce and process raw materials of special quality and unique taste.

Our stock is kept extensively in fenced farms, where animals can move freely. Thanks to free range farming and natural feeding, strong and healthy animals are born that provide excellent quality meat, lard and bacon.

The fodder plants, adjusted to the demands of animal production, are also provided by the Harangod-Mag group of companies all year round. In the summer, mangalitsa pigs are fed green forage and pumpkins in addition to own cereals. Through GMO-free feeding, mangalitsa meat is guaranteed to be GMO-free.

In 2015, the Harangod-Mag group of companies opened its own meat processing plant relying on its own stock of animals. At our plant, meat is processed in conformity with the strictest requirements of the era.

Cured mangalitsa ham

We make hams from the mangalitsa’s hind leg by using coarse sea salt and their characteristic taste is developed through curing in air for 12-36 months.

Our raw material base is provided from extensive mangalitsa farming leading to high quality and enjoyment value meat. Hams are cured by strictly controlling temperature and humidity in our curing facility.

The aroma and taste of our premium quality, artisan type of products is unique, perfectly meeting the health-conscious gastrological expectations of our age.
